My dad lets me have sex in the house and lets me throw parties with my friends and we invite boys over. my friend brought it up and he said my dad probably doesn’t even care about me. Tf? My dad said he trusts that I’ll be safe about it and that bc he’s usually there while the parties are going on nothing bad will happen.

That’s not trust that’s negligence. You aren’t supposed to be your child’s best friend your supposed to be their parent. I agree with your friends although I do see it as a safer option you shouldn’t be doing any of those things in the first place and it’s ridiculous that your dad lets you.

I think your parent is smart in my opinion. At least he's there is something happens and you're not off doing god knows what and get into some trouble. I'm gonna let me kids do what they want but have them do it at the house that way they ain't sneaking around. It doesn't mean that I'm not going to care about my kids it just means I'm watching out for their safety and wanna be there if something goes wrong.

To them they probably think your dad doesn't care because he lets you do those things that their parents wouldn't but in reality your dad still has control, he's still parenting you. He's giving you a safer space to do these things that he knows you'd find a way to do either way. And in return you'd be more truthful to him gaining more trust from him.
