Membrane sweep?

So I’ve seen plenty of post about what to expect afterwards but I’m actually torn between getting it or not at my next appointment.. I’m in between letting baby take his time, and wanting him the hell out of me because I’ve been having contractions (not Braxton Hicks) and horrible back pain for 3 days now and still no mucus plug or more consistent contractions at the least.. I know they will only do it if I’m dilated but I’d still love to here why or why not some other lady’s choose to get it, maybe help me make up my mind lol. I’ll be 38 weeks at my next appointment btw
