Cholestasis?- itching!! 😖

Question

I’m 25+1 and over the last week I’ve been itching like crazy. I thought it was a reaction to the flu shot, then I thought I had a virus, then I thought I was allergic to my makeup or something (although nothing has changed in my routine). Anyways I did a little research and I really think I have cholestasis. My itching is worse at night and it’s unbearable at times, with no rash. Anyone else having these symptoms or have experience with Cholestasis? I am waiting to hear back from my OB today to see if she is going to test me.

That happened to me! I'd demand to be tested. It just isn't on your hands and feet. Mine was all over my body. They weren't going to test me at first but I asked for it and sure enough I had it. Had to be put on medicine and also induced at 37 weeks. It's not something to ignore for sure

I had it with my first. Please tell you dr so you can get tested. This can also determine if you will have to deliver sooner. I had to with my son but he was/is perfectly healthy.

I thought I had it with my first pregnancy! Super itchy legs/feet, especially at night. I was tested twice at the end of my pregnancy when it started and both time my tests came back normal. The itching stopped once my son was born at 39+3 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yes I had cholestasis and never had itching on my palms or feet. It was always on my legs.  Just FYI it takes about a week for bile acid testing go come back so have them test you now. I’m on my second pregnancy and I get tested once a month.

I’m no doctor, but I’ve read that it’s worse in the extremities, particularly your palms and the soles of your feet if it’s cholestasis. I only read this because I’ve developed exzema this pregnancy and at first there was no rash, just a crazy intense itching. Good luck and hopefully it turns out to be a minor thing with an easy fix!
