Question

Soo I have been on birth control for over a year and at the beginning of September I was not taking any pills for the first two weeks. I then got my pack and started taking it about 2 weeks ago (i did not wait until after my period, i started taking them the day i received my new pack which was a Thursday) . Counting today I still have 8 active pills before my placebo week but my period started today.

Did my period start because it’s still synchronized to my old cycle? (Because if I didn’t stop taking my pill at the beginning of the month, my period would’ve also started today)
