Doctor delays telling a woman that she has cancer
Don't know if this has been shared yet but I'm not in here much. I only made 1 other post in this group.
I was watching a video that was just posted from the show The doctors. A doctor in Australia delays telling his patient that she has an incurable lung cancer. The woman was going on a 2 week cruise and he was planning to tell her when she got back because he wanted her to enjoy her vacation. While on the cruise the woman unfortunately contracted pneumonia and died. Her family is very angry with the doctor and says his actions were more paternalistic rather than compassionate.
What are your thoughts? Is it ok for doctors to delay news for the sake of the patient? I'm kind of in the middle if it were me.
Wish I could post the video but I'm an android user lol Here is the link https://youtu.be/Pfunid5cL_w.
I'll try to find the article for it too
