Crib in parents room or baby room?

Does baby crib go in their room? I’ve read to have babies sleep in the parents room 6 months up to a year and my son is out growing his bassinet. He still wakes up in the middle of the night though. So should I put his crib in his room and wait for him to be able to sleep through the night? Or put it in my room? (Still have not put it together that’s why I’m asking)

I think it’s personal preference and where it fits. We put our daughter’s crib in her room because it wouldn’t fit in ours. But we wanted to keep her in our room for at least 6 months, so she’s sleeping in a pack n play right now.

Once our daughter no longer fit in the bassinet we moved her crib into our room. I find it easier to respond to her in the night and I can get back to sleep more easily. We're still breastfeeding and she started teething early, so it works for us.

The crib is in our closet. We don't have a bedroom for her on the floor we're on so it'll be awhile before she's on her own.

I never used a crib. Just a bassinet then pack n play, but it’s personal preference on where. My son slept all night at 2 months so I could’ve put him in another room but I liked him next to the bed lol.. I didn’t want a nursery so we used the 2nd room for my mom when she stayed with us

I kept my baby In a bassinet/pack and play in my room until he was 6 to 7 months old. Then i transitioned him to his own room into the crib.
