Help? Advice?

22 years old and been ttc for the last 3/4 months. So I’m around 13 days late, not usually this late and bfn on pt. went to doctors had bloods done came out negative. No period as of yet but if I had my period last month i would be ovulating this week? I’m just wondering do I need to wait for my period to ovulate or can I be ovulating before my period? I’m scared I could be ttc now but not trying and waiting for period instead.
