Has beer ever given you food poisoning?

Not from drinking too much, but just beer that's gone bad or something. My husband had like 4 Hopadillo IPAs the other night. I think he was maybe a little tipsy, maybe. But the next morning & all throughout the day he was horribly nauseous, pretty sure had some diarrhea, & was just miserable until at least midnight. Anyone else get sick from bad beer?

Trying to figure out if it's that or something else. I should mention, he didn't think it tasted right when he drank it, probably should've stopped at that point lol.
