This doesn’t make sense. If you love someone, I mean truly unconditionally love them-It doesn’t matter if “you’re not feeling it” (assuming you’re talking about a fight or being annoyed) .. you still love them. So are you talking about not saying it or withholding “I love you” for the sake of them having their feelings hurt? Even if my husband and I are arguing we’re still going to say I love you. Sounds juvenile or immature to say you’re “faking it”. In my opinion.

You love them, but that doesn’t always mean you like them. There’s a difference. If you don’t love them, that’s issue. If you just don’t really like them in that moment, that’s fine. But you should always tell them you love them if you do. Your love shouldn’t change day to day. If it does, then it’s not love.

Well I live with my boyfriend, but when we get into petty arguments and aren’t too happy with each other, I still make sure to tell him I love him before going to bed, and if we’re still upset at each other in the morning, I still tell him I love him before leaving for work. 
Like a “hey. You still suck & im still mad at you, but I love you” and the pout off.

if you’re in a relationship and you’re not at the stage where you say “i love you” yet, then don’t say it if you don’t feel it.
but if you are at that stage and just have been having a bad day or upset at him, i think you should still say it
