Gestational Diabetes Testing?

So next week is my appt for the gestational diabetes testing can anyone tell me how this works?!? Doctor told me I would have to drink a soda with a lot of sugar... sounds gross already. Can anyone tell me what all takes place?

You drink the bevy...kinda tastes like McDonald orange pop..then wait in the clinic for an hour and they retest your levels...

If it is just your one hour test then they will have your eat a normal meal ans you will chug a bottle of glucola. It is basically sugar water but kind of does taste like almost flat soda. You have to finish the bottle in less than 10 min but it is relatively small and I just think chugging it is easier than sipping on it. You can't eat or drink anything until they draw your blood exactly an hour after you finish it. That's it.
