Step-Kids

So me and my husband just got into a huge recurring fight he says I'm being to hard on my stepson when I ask him to do his homework go clean his room go do his hour of reading he says all I want to be is bossy and in control I tell him no I'm doing what the school has asked the reading part a little history on this we got custody of my stepson about 5 months ago it turned our world upside down but I am happy he can be a great kid but he has been through so much he has attitude talks back is rude and disrespectful to everyone lies steals and doesn't pay attention in school we set rules for him but were I try to follow through with them my husband doesn't I'm always the bad guy my husband doesn't have my back on anything and it hurts my stepson is so far behind in school it seems like I'm the only one who wants him to do better my husband is OK with him doing things half ass any advice would be great I try to talk to my husband and it just leads to a fight before my stepson moved in we hardly fought and were in a good place my two year old is picking up all the bad behaviors from my stepson and copying them my husband just laughs I don't find it cute or funny I just want to be happy again
