Where are most people on here from?

I see quite a lot of people talking about having very early ultrasounds having lots of blood work at 5-6 weeks and paying for the cost of everything.
We don’t have anything like that here in the UK so I’m completely clueless to most posts 😞 lol

I’m in Canada, I’ll have my first prenatal appointment with my dr around 7-8 weeks and my first ultrasound for dating around 8ish weeks. After that I’m transferring my care to midwives and they see you for the first time around 10 weeks.

USA: I had a doctor’s appointment today to confirm pregnancy (urine test) and do blood paneling. Both of those are very common and can be scheduled fairly early on in pregnancy or can be done at the 9-10 week mark which is when you really get seen. Most of the time (for my other pregnancy) the 10 week mark appointment is just to check for a heartbeat and fill out paperwork. Most of the time they’ll do an ultrasound to confirm dating. From there you won’t get another ultrasound until you get your gender/20 week appointment. After that you won’t really get one until right before delivery time frame to confirm baby’s positioning. At least this is how it’s been for me (third pregnancy) and everyone I know. Although we are military affiliated so maybe there’s a difference.

Norway. They don't usually do any check ups before 8-12weeks and that's just blood and urine. 
I'm having an early ultrasound because of ivf, it's not in our standard for naturallyconcieved babies. Our normal pregnancy care programme only has one ultrasound in the middle of pregnancy.

Canadian over here! If theres no issues we usually wait until 8 weeks to see a doctor and get an ultrasound. Some doctors won't order an US until 12 weeks. My 8 week appointment is scheduled for November 7th! I'm so excited to see how little bean is doing!

US here - first appt Friday. Don’t know what they are doing. But I’m given ultrasounds regularly. Lol. They have it in office so it’s easy

I’m in the US and don’t have my first midwife appointment until 11 weeks. Obstetricians are standard in the US and see patients much earlier than midwives. Most other countries in the world use midwives and standard for normal pregnancy care and it’s normal to see midwives later 10-12 weeks.

I’m in Australia 🇦🇺 but we don’t get early ultrasounds either. I’m sure I could ask and pay for it but I’m happy to wait
