Bloody show or cervix check

I’m almost 38 weeks and today my dr checked my cervix and said I’m at a 2 and the baby’s head is right there. I usually don’t bleed after he checks me but today I had some blood in my underwear. 5 hours later I went to the bathroom and had some blood on some mucus ( maybe discharge) and had some small brown discharge. Is the brown discharge from my cervix check or is the beginning of bloody show?
