Is it wrong to try for a baby after just finding out that someone else is expecting?

My husband and I just found out that our sister in law is pregnant with our niece/nephew. This is their first child and we have 1 child. We were originally planning on trying for our second child in the spring, but since finding out the big news, we are contemplating trying sooner so that they could be closer in age. If you were our sister in law, would this upset you? Why or why not? We don’t want to steal anyone’s thunder and we are over the moon excited for them. But we would love going through the process together and for the kids to be close in age.

You should never hold up your life because of someone else. The only way it steals someone’s thunder is if you take over their event. (Announcing a pregnancy at someone’s baby shower for example).

I have a happy surprise coming 6 weeks after my SIL. Everyone is so excited that they’ll be so close. But, if you wait until spring that’s not too far apart! 
It’s up to you! I’ve just been making sure she gets all the attentions seeing as it’s my second.

I don’t know why there are something existed called “steal someone’s thunder”. It sounds like the type of people gets upset over their thunder being stolen are selfish and thinks about themselves. Anyways, who cares? It’s your life and if you want to have a baby then go for it! If I were the sister in law, I would be so happy for you and definitely excited for our babies to grow together as cousins. I’m pretty sure she would feels the same way

My mom found out she was pregnant with her 8th a little over a month before I found out I was expecting my first kid. Mine was very far from planned (birth control baby 😂) but still, she didn't get upset or feel like I was trying to steal her thunder so to speak. If anything it made it to where our kids can grow up together, especially since mine came early so she's only two weeks younger than my newest brother. I don't see an issue with it, unless they're the type to get bent out of shape over that kind of stuff 🤷

My boyfriend's sister has a son who is 4 months old, I'm 33 weeks with our son, and his brother and his fiance are due with their baby in May. So we'll have 3 little ones that are all pretty close in age

I think it's a good idea.. I'm currently 17+5 and I want one of my sisters to get pregnant so they can be close in age lol but one doesn't want more kids and the other will try till next year.. My brother's wife just had her baby 2 months ago.. So mine and hers will be like  months apart.. The thing is we don't see eachother much and it's nit the same..
