Zoloft and breastfeeding?

I have been prescribed Zoloft and I am breastfeeding. My dr told me it was perfectly safe.. but clearly I’m struggling with anxiety and I can’t stop wondering if it’s REALLY safe. Why am I questioning my dr like this? Does anyone else take Zoloft and still breastfeed?

I took Zoloft and breastfed for 6 months with absolutely no problems.

I am taking Zoloft while breastfeeding. I also took it while I was pregnant. Everything is fine with baby. :)

Do some research on it before you come to a conclusion. I personally would not take it while breastfeeding, but if the benefits to the drug outweigh the effects or risks to your baby sometimes you have to do what you have to do. Not taking it especially when your hormones are all over the place may really mess you up. Maybe ask another doctor or even a pharmacist.

Nothing is completely safe.  It's about balancing risks and benefits. Zoloft is considered safe for breastfeeding for most people. If you don't have other medical issues that your doctor isn't aware of then I'm sure your doctor is correct.  I have extra medical issues that most doctors don't deal with so I always do extra research. If the medicine is giving you more anxiety tho,  perhaps you should see a talk therapist as well or instead of medication.
