I understand the nice thing would be to cater to him. But when he's not sick he's already very moody. Yesterday I told him I was going to make soup for him. He said never mind.  Please help me out here ladies.

Aside from taking straight up abuse, him having an attitude shouldn’t deter you from treating him the best you can. Sometimes one side has to pull harder to approximate what the relationship should be like. Assuming he hasn’t cheated, bridging the gap between the two of you— especially with benevolence— can only help your marriage survive. Sure, you can let it wither and accept his cold shoulder, but you could also take the high road and look out for him even when he’s not capable of looking out for you both.
