Me and my highschool sweet heart have known eachother since I was a freshman. We met and started dating when I was 14 and he was 16. We broke up when he moved away cause we didnt wanna do long distance but stayed pretty good friends. Well now we're 19 and 21, and our whole friendship has been this back an forth of "will they or wont they" kinda thing. Whenever one of us was interested in dating again, the other would be in a relationship. Well the past few months we had been hanging out more and more, and this time we're both single. He asked me on a date twice, once back in may and once a couple weeks ago. I said no both times because I had some reservations about him. Well the past week I hadn't been able to get him out of my head, so I asked him if he was still interested in going on a date. I told him it was fine if he said no since I had already said no twice before. I didnt expect home to wait around for me forever. Well, I was 3 days too late. He had just gone on a date with a girl we went to highschool with and he didnt wanna say yes to me and hurt the other girl. He said if i had asked him 3 days ago he would have jumped at the chance. And the kicker is that the girl he went on a date with is SO sweet and SO beautiful. Shes the nicest and I feel like I could never compete with her. Not that i want to, but still.

5 years of this back and forth, and even now that we're both single and interested, it still cant work. I guess it just wasnt meant to be, but it really hurts right now.
