sitting in back seat with child?

what age did you stop sitting in the back seat with your child? I understand you sit with them when they’re a baby, but my friend has an 18 month old toddler and since she was born my friend refuses to sit in the front seat even for super short rides (~10 mins).

The only time I sat in the backseat was on the way home from the hospital and anytime baby was super cranky. Otherwise you don't have to sit in the back.

I never sat in the back seat with my kid. Well until last weekend when he specifically asked me to (he’s 2 now).

I never really did just the odd time & that was on the way to my in laws. It is a 3.5h ride & my son was very young like 6 weeks old, & when he slept the entire way I didn’t sit in the back on the way home & never since unless he is like losing his mind which has only happened twice because he wasn’t feeling well. He is better in the back by himself than with someone else in there because he wants to be taken out to play if he can see someone lol

I sat with my kids twice. Once on the way home from the hospital and the other was a 9 hour drive to keep them entertained so they wouldn’t cry and we wouldn’t need to stop every 20 minutes because someone dropped a stuffed animal or needed some juice.

I did with my son til he was like 2. And it was so Hard initially when I stopped cuz he wanted me back there. With my daughter? Nahhh not unless we were in the car more than an hour (mainly so I could breast feed her or make sure her diaper wasnt starting to get too full)
