How do you feel when you/SO leaves?

I've been in a LDR for almost 16 months now. I have depression and anxiety, for which I'm on medication and going through all of that to try and find something that helps. I just wanted to know how you feel when you leave or your SO leaves to go back to your/their home? I feel like it's the end of the world and I have no purpose anymore and like I'm dying and it feels like my SO has died and it's horrible messaging on WhatsApp because it's like a robot has taken his place... I don't really think any of that is normal and I think my mental health makes it worse but I just wanted someone to express their feelings too?

I’m sorry you experience those feelings :( ... I’m in a LDR myself so each and every time when it’s time for us to say goodbye, I break down, literally. I’m sobbing and telling him that I don’t want to leave or that I want to leave with him. It’s horrible. I have only not cried like twice! And it’s been going on for the past 3 years! During our last trip, he gave me 2 of his shirts to keep ❤️ it helps that I have something of his but it doesn’t take away the sadness I feel when I’m missing him

I've only spent 11 physical days with my SO and honestly the second time he visited and left was worse than the first. I have anxiety too and some depression, I never realized how unhappy I was until he was here because I actually felt alive and wanted and needed and like I had a purpose in life. He also makes me feel soo calm and safe. it's been almost 2 months since he's gone back home and I just feel like a meaningless robot in life. hoping to close the gap next year. I totally understand how you feel.
