I’m 33 and my mother still gets to me! Today she decided to tell me she’s ashamed of me and called me stupid. For pretty much no reason. I decided to block her from texting/calling. She’s always making me jump through hoops. Am I wrong?

My mother and I have a very toxic relationship as well, but she’s also that way with my siblings. She’s very old fashioned where she expects now that we’re all grown we should take care of her and she shouldn’t have any struggles in life unfortunately, my siblings and I are all married , have our own kids and homes and bills and there’s no extra to help. I left my mother my old apartment where the rent was very cheap and to her that’s not enough. She never calls just to say hi there’s always something she needs or wants and I’m currently 5 1/2 months pregnant and high risk and my doctors explained I shouldn’t be stressed when I told my mother that she said “ your pregnant your not sick , I don’t feel bad “... it really broke me . She really sucks the energy out of you and it sucks but at the end of the day she’s my mother and I respect her enough to swallow my pride and try to help as much as I can . I know I only get 1 mom in life and I don’t want to end up never talking to her again so as the youngest child I really swallow the boat load of it and tolerate it for the sake of family I guess . Hang in there ! Trust me I’m 34, my brother is 35 and my sister is 38 and we still get the BS daily . It doesn’t change with age unfortunately. The older my mom gets the more demanding she is . Hang in there and tell your self you only have one mom!
