I left my daughters father 8 months ago but when she was born we were together again then he cheated when she was 10 days old. He was abusive in every way possible and now I’m scared to even get close to a guy in fear it will turn into another bad relationship. Been there?

I literally said to myself one day “its time to go” I packed up all my stuff and my daughters and took off . Now I’m pregnant with baby number 2, engaged to an amazing man (we met in middle school) and starting a life together 💛 went all so fast , he invited me to live with him on base & we ended up together & now a year together and I wouldn’t have it any other way . haven’t been this happy since the day I gave birth to my first born 😌  granite we’re fighting for full custody with her dad right now , but he’s my rock and loves my daughter like his own

I’ve never been in an abusive relationship. However I think you can eventually start having normal relationships but I think it takes time maybe just go super slow start off with friendships and go from there. Don’t rush it. If your not ready for a relationship then don’t get involved in one. You could take some self defence classes and maybe try an see if you can’t find a support group and get some coping mechanisms. And try and find ways to identify potential abusers before anything serious happens (don’t know if that one is possible). Another thing that might help is counselling. Sorry if I’m over stepping with my comment.
