I have an asexual friend and I’m crushing on her. I’m not really one hundred percent sure what asexual means since my parents are strict and homophobic so I don’t want to look it up. (This basically the only social network thing that I can use without my parents finding out.) but I think it means someone who doesn’t have sexual feelings for people. (Please tell me if this is wrong cause I don’t really fully know what it is and don’t want to offend anyone!)
So I’m pretty sure that asexual people can be in a relationship but I don’t know if that’s correct either.
So if you know what it is PLEASE EDUCATE ME!! And should I ask her out or will that offend her?

If she's asexual then she won't want to have sexual relations with anyone. It's a different story if she's aromantic, though. That would mean she doesn't have any romantic feelings for anyone and doesn't wanna date.

Asexual just means they don’t have a want and/or need for sex, and everyone who is asexual lands on a different part of the spectrum. It’s probably best to ask her herself what being asexual means for her, because for some people, like me, it means I am never going to be willing to have sex with someone no matter how much I love them, and for other people, they may be willing to do it occasionally just for the sake of the other person and not gain anything out of it themselves. Obviously there’s more than just those two descriptions and everyone can fall anywhere between or around those things. Most importantly you need to be understanding that being in a relationship with an asexual person means that you will never have a normal sex life with them.

Hi I’m ace and I date!! It’s honestly pretty difficult cause it seems as though sex is the most important thing to so many people. But the descriptions in the other comments are pretty accurate! Asexuality is not feeling sexual attraction or having sexual desires. Some aces do have sex, but some do not. Asexuality, like every other sexuality, is a spectrum, so literally every ace is different. For me, I do not want anything to do with sex or anything sexual. But, I still love other physical romantic things like making out and other forms of touch that don’t involve the stuff down there lol 
How to date an asexual: make them feel as comfortable as possible. Don’t make them feel like an inconvenience cause they won’t have sex with you. If you want sex, find someone else to date. If sex doesn’t matter to you, let the ace you’re dating know! Ask them questions about asexuality so you can fully understand it. Ask what they do and don’t like to do physically. Communication is so important! Also know that because they do not feel sexual attraction, it has nothing to do with you! Literally nothing! So don’t feel down on yourself thinking that it’s just you that they don’t like or want to have sex with; it’s everybody!
