Parents have filthy house. Do you say something?

So I’m having a really difficult time with this and I’m just looking for advice.

Ever since me and my sister have moved out of my mom’s house, it has gotten dirtier and dirtier. Not hoarder stuff level-just dirt.

There are 3 working adults in this household, 2 children and idk how many animals in the house. 2 cats and a dog I think.

Anyways, my sister texted me and told me she stopped by and moms house has gotten worse. The smell, the fleas, bugs, dirt. Everything I guess.

I told her since she was the one who went over there, maybe she could just mention to our mom the smell and chalk it up to the dog having an accident. But she thought that would be rude but maybe our brother could mention it to her since he’s closer to her. Idk. I didn’t think I could out of the blue say anything because I don’t go over there and my children don’t either so it seemed ruder I guess for me to do that.

My husband won’t visit because of this and I get it. But I just feel like I don’t know if it’s my place to say something because of the two children who live there, but my husband doesn’t believe it’s my business.

I know it’s gross, but what would you do? What should I do?
