I shoulda kept my induction date to myself..

I'm a first time mom and being induced at 39 weeks due to hypertension. I told my mom and my husband told his family, who lives out of state. I already knew my mom was going to be up my butt about the labor and delivery.

Well she told my brother in another state and now he wants to come visit. Which I appreciate. My father committed suicide two months ago and my brother wasn't able to make it down because he and his wife had a baby 5 days later and couldn't travel, so it would be great to see him.

I thought for sure my in-laws would give us a week or so to get used to the new baby (and me with my new body) but nope. They're coming the day before I even deliver. And with induction who knows how long I'll be in the hospital. There was no conversation about it, no asking what would be convenient for us.

I've expressed that I want no one with my husband and I in the hospital until the baby is born. So I guess they're just going to come here and stay at our house while we're still in the hospital? And then when I get home it's going to be three extra people who don't need to be here and I just know I'm going to feel smothered, especially because we only have one bathroom.

I'm trying not to stress out about it but I can't help but feel like it's going to be one big circus and it's overwhelming me already. It would be different if his family were getting a hotel but they'll be sleeping on our floor in the livingroom. My husband won't tell his mom to wait to come either since he's lucky if he even gets to see them once a year.

Anyone else have similar experiences or tips for trying to entertain all these people? What are the first few nights like with a newborn? Will I be as miserable as I feel like I'm going to be?
