Any tips on getting my GED?

I’m 21 and don’t have it cause 1 I was homeschooled and two I was in a sticky situation when I was back home. It’s better now cause I left and now I have my own family to worry about. I want a job like my husbands but I litucan not get it cause I do not have a GED or HS diploma. 
I just really need some tips on taking the test and what it was like taking it. It would be so very helpful.

I had a baby at 16 and dropped out to take care of her. I psyched myself out for 10 years and made every excuse not to continue. Finally I enrolled in the free classes my local community college offered and quickly found out I didn't even need the classes. Was able to test straight through and even won a scholarship based on my scores. The college also gave me a free nursing assistant course. I had myself afraid to progress for no reason, you can do this,  don't put it off like I did.

I was homeschooled, and even though I could get a diploma through the state, it was less hassle to just get the GED. 
At the time I got one of those Cracking The GED books and mostly just used it for the practice test, and to get a feel for the kinds of questions and level of math etc. Because I had only just finished twelfth grade I actually did not find it very hard at all, and finished all sections well before the times up. But since it has been some years for you I would definitely recommend a GED prep book (lots at Barns and Noble you can look through). Also many places offer GED prep classes. 
Basically it’s not hard so much as there will just be things you forgot after all this time.

Call your county or your local school district and ask to speak to someone who can help you get set up to get a GED. You need to pass a test to get the certification, and some districts will have you attend classes (either in person or online). I think it’s great that you’re pursuing this. Best of luck!!
