Trying to get a house

My husband and I are trying to get a house, but he has credit issues, it’s not bad now. Just from the past when he first got a car. Is there any loans that he could get from Army? He knows he can get like a once in a lifetime loan from them, and that theres this thing called the “guaranteed home VA loan”. But he doesn’t want to use it because he thinks they are the same thing and he wants a business too, but my question is can you use both? Are they different loans to get? We just want a house and we can afford it but don’t want to hurt his credit even more. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.
