Abnormal test result

So Monday I went in for results of my pap and my ob told me it came back abnormal. This is the first time this has ever happened. I noticed an increase in yeast infections and I found out last year I was exposed to herpes but do not show active ( no outbreaks). I’m trying not to worry but my mom went through the exact same thing I am going through now. She was found to have precancerous cervical cancer. She froze and scraped out the abnormal cells so thankfully it never escalated and she’s been healthy ever since. It’s still terrifying. I’m trying not to bombard myself with information but at the same time I don’t want to be foolishly optimistic or ignorant to my situation. I go back on the 12th for a colposcopy and I’m not sure if he’ll be able to tell me then if he sees anything wrong or how long I have to wait for results.

Has anyone ever gone through this? How was it for you? My concern is fertility. I want more kids and it’s breaking my heart thinking I won’t be able to have that anymore.
