Vasectomy or tubal ligation?

I am having a c section with my third. My husband has agreed to a vasectomy but my doctor is saying she can easily do it while she is in there. Thoughts?

I think that if you’re already having a c section a tubal makes more sense. If you weren’t I’d say vasectomy

I had my tubes done during my last c section, hubby refuses to get a V. My periods are now irregular and more painful. I've been off hormonal birth control for 8 years, so I'm certain it's from the tubes. It's not excruciating, but definitely noticeable. So if something like that would bother you, I'd go with the V if he's willing, no side effects.

Tubal would be better if they're doing it the same time as the csec. Is the reason for it you just don't want more kids or you've had previous c sections? If it's the latter definately get tubal because vasectomy can recanalize and you can have a surprise baby a few years later. If the former... Just make sure you really don't want more. Both options are considered 'permanent' but vasectomy is probably easier and less invasive to reverse than a tubal. Do some research before you decide.
