How much is your baby eating?

Doctor told us to try less more often. He really seems mad and hungry still after 2 ounces. At bed time we did 4 and middle of night 4. He definitely seemed like he wanted more but thankfully fell asleep. He said babies his age are usually taking 2 to 3 ounces every 2 hours. He is on formula. We did breastmilk for the first month and couldn't get past it. He is on spit up formula now. It seems thinner.

Let them eat what they want as king as their not throwing it back up their not eating too much . Denying him food when he's hungry could set him up to overeat in the future since he won't know when it'll go away

I wouldn’t follow that at all. Two ounces isn’t enough for most babies. I would give him at least four ounces per feeding but I wouldn’t deny food if he keeps eating. I would cut him off at 6 oz maybe but never at 2 oz.

My son is 9 weeks and eats 6oz every 4/5 hours. He is fed on demand. Always has been and always will be. If he wants a bottle after 3 hours he will get it, although usually it is 4/5 hours. Whenever he tells me he is hungry, I feed him. Do right by your baby don't listen to what your ped told you.

My daughter was born 8/29/18 and is currently taking 4oz every 2-3 hours. She had just recently been acting like she even wants more than that. We give her 5 oz before bed and it helps her sleep. I would say give your baby more...follow baby’s cues.

Can I ask, does he have reflux? Is that the problem?
Just wondering why the pediatrician recommended less more often.
Our LO has reflux and we are having her checked next week for a lip tie. She’s only nursed for an average of 9 mins total each feeding since the beginning before she gets super fussy, which isn’t very long. Because of that she feeds more often. (That said, every once in a while she has a random long feed.)
If that’s the case try 3 oz every couple of hours with a pause in the middle of the 3oz (we stop and burp and rest for a bit, then finish). Then if he still seems hungry, 10-15 mins after finishing that try another ounce. That usually works for ours and I think spacing it out helps her reflux.

My LO nursed for 2 hours today and also had 9.3oz breast milk in bottles.
She typical nurses between an hour and 1.5 hours a day and takes anywhere from 10-15 oz on top of that.
I think she’s currently in a growth spurt.
We were told to never deny her food.

What? That’s crazy... I can’t believe your pediatrician would suggest feeding less!! My babe is 12 weeks and eating 6 oz every 3 hours (6 times a day).
