MD said I REABSORBED pregnancy or possibly just lost a twin????

Kennedy

I really hope that this Doctor is not just a quack.

My last missed period was Sept. 12th. I should be 7-8 weeks pregnant, but baby is measuring at 5 weeks and a couple days, they are now saying I’ll be 6 weeks on Monday. I went to ER on Tuesday for concern, I just had a bad feeling and I wanted to be checked out. They measured the baby at 5weeks 6 days fetal age and couldn’t detect a heartbeat but HCG was at 8,000 so they said no need for concern. Yesterday I had an ultrasound, and they found a heartbeat, but measured the baby at early 5weeks (I’m assuming gestational age because of how small but I should have asked.. the baby measured at 3mm so smaller than the first measurement three days prior.) However Tuesday my HCG was 8,300 and Friday it dropped down to 6,000. The doctor originally say I could have ovulated later, but I keep close track of my cycles and I’m VERY in tune with my body, and I’m confident* about when I conceived. They are putting my conception date as October 7th, when I got my first positive October 5th and a BFP on October 6th. MD said that at this point even with the HUGE HCG drop she has no reason to believe I don’t have a viable pregnancy after reviewing my ultrasound reports. She said I could have either lost a twin, and that’s what is causing the HCG to drop or I “reabsorbed” a pregnancy which she has seen once before, where someone miscarried at 8 weeks then two weeks later showed a 5 week pregnancy on ultrasound. Is this woman a quack and getting my hopes up or is this legitimate? After hearing my nurse read the labs I had told my husband it was inevitable that we would lose the pregnancy. I feel like I’m being drug all over.
