Registry necessary??

Question

So I have my baby shower coming up in December and I’m still on the fence about a registry. Is it really necessary to have one or should I just let people choose what they want to get? I don’t really care if I get doubles on things because you never know if something will break or if you’ll need it. I know some people who say yes it’s good to have but then again it’s not always required. What are your lady’s opinions? Should I do one? Or just let it flow?

I always like the registry because I never know what to get. But if you're really okay with anything then  just say that and don't bother. Registries are a lot of work!

I think a registry is good so people know your taste. Even though most my gifts weren’t from my registry, I think my guests picked things they knew I’d like based on the colors and products I did register for.

I think it’s not entirely necessary, but will make shopping a lot easier for those who are clueless at what to buy babies. I made 2 registries -Amazon and Target- because I have certain things in mind that I like. But on both registries I put a little memo that said something along the lines of “everything on this list is a general idea. We will appreciate anything and everything”
Even if you don’t care what you get, think about if you have a little cousin who sees your registry, picks out something on there and is dying for you to love that gift because they picked out exactly what you wanted. I think it just makes the idea of shopping easier.

Im personally not a fan of it .  Some times the stores people  pick are more expensive  than others . I didn't  want to tell anyone what to get me . I only had one double of something and had a gift receipt  so not a big deal .

As a person buying gifts for someone’s shower I always appreciate when there’s a registry. I can always know I’m getting them something they actually want, in their taste. If I have something else cute I want to do I’ll always add that with something from the registry. But I think the registry helps everyone involved

I put all of the big stuff on my registry. Because at my sister’s baby shower, her boyfriend’s aunt tried giving them an expired car seat so I choose to do it on my own lol.
