What Are Newborn Essentials No One Told You You Needed/Wanted?

I know that there’s lots of things you’ll want or need that no one tells you about, so I want some opinions from mamas 💗

Its almost the opposite most of the time. I was told i should get, or i needed alll this shit, and i didn't use most of it.

I don’t remember what I was told to buy, but I love using cloth diapers as burp cloths. I buy the gerber prefold diapers in a 10-pack. I also love using bamboo changing pad liners and keep extra in the car, in my diaper bag, and in the dresser under my changing pad. The baby bum brush is super convenient for applying diaper cream, and an ear thermometer is a lifesaver, along with the Nosefrida.

So I set up a little mobile diaper kit. Got the basket at dollar tree and put diapers, wipes, rash cream, hand sanitizer, and some snacks in it (you’re insanely hungry pp!) I carried it with me around the house because if a diaper emergency happened I was prepared no matter what 😁

Gerber brand mittens. They're the only ones that stay on my baby. I try to keep her nails trimmed and filed as much as I can but they are like tiny razors!

My biggest essential was my boba baby wrap. No one suggested it I just happened to pick one up and I loved it so much especially in the newborn stage. It was a lifesaver! I wore my baby for about 4 months.

Some things people recommended that I did not need/use were a humidifier, noise machine, diaper warmer, burp rags and bottle warmer. Some things I didn't realize would have been awesome to have were baby wraps/carriers, traditional bibs (not bandana style ones), a moses basket and a boppy (I had a breastfriend pillow and hated it)

A carrier! Seriously, if I could only buy one thing for my baby I would have a carrier.
For new babies I use a stretchy wrap it makes you feel semi normal for a little while xxx

The Medifrieda! Everyone knows about the nosefrieda (which is also amazing) but the medifrieda saved us when my daughter had thrush and needed oral medicine twice a day. Also awesome to have for vitamin d and gripe water!

Swaddles! And set up a nursing corner for you with everything you need. Also burp cloths in every location you plan to feed
