Who pays for the mortgage/rent bill?

I used to always kinda say very shyly that my husband pays the bills because I'm a SAHM, and I don't have a job, but then every time we pay bills, my husband says, "we," pay bills because he says that it's not just, "his," money. It's, "our money," and this is, "our home." And he says I do have a job, one that he certainly could never do because he'd be lost trying to do all the things that I do... *blush* Gotta hand it to him for being so sweet to me! So, "we," pay the bills.

We have a joint account and share all of our funds. My husband makes 5-6x more than me so we would have to live two separate lives if we didn’t. Plus, in my opinion, that is what marriage is about.

My husband pays the mortgage and his bills. I pay the utilities and my bills. We split car insurance and will be splitting childcare as well.

Mortgage comes out of his paycheck. Other bills (utilities, cell phone, etc) come out of my paycheck. He bought our house based on his income alone (we had just started dating), so I take what I used to pay monthly for rent and put it in a separate savings account, which we use if something needs repairing or if we remodel.

We split all bills that involve both of us right down the middle (mortgage, electric, phone, WiFi, etc) and we pay our own personal bills (car insurance, car payment, etc)

What’s the difference between half half and a joint account?

Technically the mortgage comes out of my account but that’s because I get one paycheck at the beginning of the month. I pay all the bills from my checking account. My husband pays daycare with his weekly paycheck and gives me money to put into my account to pay towards the other bills. This is just what works in our marriage. Plus, it’s all of our money anyways...

I stay home so him , but when I start working I will probably pay half , it’s not his money or my money it our money

Right now he is the only one working,  but we share finances.  When we both worked we both paid towards everything.  Once our farm is operational and making money the money will be both of ours.
