Losing pieces of my nipple?

FTM here and LO is 6 days old. I've been loving our breastfeeding journey so far. The LC and nurses at the hospital were very impressed by how well we took to it. I don't have a reason to believe baby has a bad latch, but today I noticed pieces of my nipple coming off after a feeding. They had already started scabbing a few days ago but these look like flesh colored chunks, maybe a little white than the pink color the rest of the nipple surrounding it still is. Anyone know if this should be cause for concern?
