How do I deal with this..

I had a mc in April 2018, and my insurance didn’t cover any of it because I’m a dependent. (Still on my moms insurance because I’m under 26 and hubby hasn’t had sign ups through his job yet) So now I’m stuck with an $11,000 bill because none of us knew insurance wouldn’t cover me 😔 we tried getting Medicaid and they denied me because with both me and hubby working we make too much, and we missed the deadline for financial aid. Now it’s about to be sent to collections and I’m at a loss...I’ve told my mom to call her insurance company because it’s not right that they never told her it wouldn’t be covered but she just tells me I need to deal with it on my own.

Someone please give me guidance on how to deal with this, I don’t know if I should make a gofundme, or yell at the insurance company, or what. 😔😔
