Can a father sign over his rights?

I’m looking for people with knowledge or experience with this sort of situation.

I’ve recently found out I am 3/4 weeks pregnant this was confirmed at a sexual health clinic.

However I am not with the baby’s father and don’t not ever wish to be it was a fling that ended rather quickly and negatively.

I told the father a few days ok that I was pregnant and I had already made my mind up that I was getting rid of it and I would understand if he didn’t want any involvement in my decision however his reaction took me by surprise when he said he wanted to keep the baby and focus on us trying to become friends in order to be good parents! Obviously this brought out a lot of feelings I had been bottling up I’ve always wanted a child and abortion wouldn’t be something I really would want to do.

The minute I said my heads all over the place and I’m starting to think it would be better if I keep this baby he instantly changed started accusing me of it not being his that I’m forcing a decision on him!

We have argued every single day since Saturday he’s said he does not want a baby with me at all and is happy for me to raise it alone, is there anything I can do other than not put his name on the birth certificate to stop him from coming in and out of our lives? I wouldn’t never ever ever stop my child seeing it’s father but right now I need to know my options because this is going to be a long tough 9 months
