Defrosting lamb steak

Hey guys

Please don’t be judgey and rude, first time living away and with partner and he wants to cook lamb steaks

I always thought you had to take meat out night before

I never had close relationship with my mum and never really had lessons or got taught how to cook

If I take them out now (10:50am) will they be ready by around 6pmish

And what’s best way to do it? Tried searching it and got mixed opinions about doing it fridge and weather to cover it or keep it in package which is confusing me as got 4 in the pack!

I’m so cautious/anxious about food poisoning that it’s stressing me out 🤦🏼‍♀️
