Scared to even have a newborn near me

So unfortunately I was diagnosed with HSV2 (genital herpes). It’s presenting itself in a strange way which is called herpetic whitlow, it’s on my hands. I know how to get through pregnancy safely with this but after I actually have a newborn at home, I’m so nervous of passing it especially because it’s on my hands.

I’ve been covering them up. Anyone familiar with this? So scared to even have a newborn near me at this point
