Why did you decide to have kids? 🤔

I saw a post with a young girl saying she wants a baby. And the comments were full of “thats not a good reason to have one” aha while I agree young girls shouldn’t get pregnant... what in the hell else made you have a baby? Like am I missing something?? I don’t have one so maybe that’s why I’m finding this hard to understand lol... why’d you have a kid? “Wanting to start a family, wanting to be a mom” literally all fall under wanting a baby so yea I’m just not seeing how that’s not a reason 🤣 no judgement at all, the comments really just made me curious as to what else your motive would be🧐

I myself am a young mom. Currently 20 years old and I have an 18 month old. My husband and I took no measures in order to prevent pregnancy.  We figured if it happens than it happens & we were beyond excited.  Now I am currently pregnant with our second baby. We were TTC this second child because we wanted our children to be close in age.  By the time this baby is born our first will be just about to turn two years old.  We are well established, although we are only 21 & 20. We have more than enough money to afford children. We have our own house & pay everything ourselves. We wanted children & that’s the reason we decided to have children even at this age.  If I were in a different situation where we couldn’t afford children or weren’t responsible enough to care for children, than I wouldn’t have children even if I wanted one.

I found the man of my dreams and both of us come from broken or dysfunctional families we want to build a big strong family and show our children how true love looks & what the meaning of family really is.

We were in the right place in our lives. I wanted to settle down into family life. My husband and I had been together since 15. We had traveled. We had gotten married and had a house and dog. I was over house parties and going to clubs. I wanted the next step in our life together.

I think a mistake some people make is thinking in terms of what a baby will bring to their life. While yes children bring blessings, it's a lot more giving and sacrifice than receiving. If you think of it in terms of having a cute baby, fun baby gear and clothes, the baby shower, attention, Facebook photos etc, your baby now has a job, to please you. That's not what parenthood is about. When you're ready to give a child all that you can, even if thy child isn't everything you wished for (gender, looks, perfect health etc), even if it means giving up a lot of other things, then you're ready to be a parent. 
By the way I didn't see the post you're referring to so I can't comment on what she said or how others responded.

We wanted to adopt. Never wanted to have biological children. Birth control decided otherwise 🤷🏻‍♀️

Well me and my bf of over ten years wanted to have a child. We been together for a long time now and wanted to start a family. We love each other and want to build our lives and future together. Children is a factor in that. Plus I've always wanted to be a mom and he's obviously not going anywhere so tada . Here we are just waiting for baby #1 to be born in 30 days (or less 🤞🏽)

Me and my husband decided early on we wanted a big family and don’t want kids after 30-33. So we started early because we had good jobs, house, cars, animals. And it was the right time to start a family. Well it took longer than expected (as we knew it probably would). I’ve always wanted to be a mom and he always wanted to be a dad. We both didn’t have parents growing up and we want to give our kids the best life possible. And that’s what we’re going to do as we are 18 weeks pregnant with a baby girl and baby #1
