Should I just give up? He has a problem...

Sorry in advance but this may be long....

6 months ago I met this guy who I swore up and down was my other half. We are different/the same in the right ways if that makes sense like we just fit together perfectly. They say when you know you’ve found your person YOU KNOW and I immediately felt a connection with him and still feel all the same things I felt then...but of course everything is too good to be true.

A couple months in it became clear he had weird mood swings. His parents separated when he was young, got new partners and made no space for him. He grew up with his grandfather while his sister lived with his mom and her new husband. Everyone has just kinda always left him and so he has super, super bad trust issues. And on top of that, he has these mood swings. So those two don’t mix well. Early in, he would start saying bizarre things to me for no reason like accusing me of cheating on him when he had no reason to and then the next hour he would be fine. I said I was going to leave him and he cried for days over it and begged me to stay and that he wanted help for himself and me. We ended up talking it out he agreed he had a problem and immediately scheduled a visit with a psychiatrist. He was put on bipolar and depression meds. He was willing to do whatever it took to make us work because he felt the same as I did.

Things got better for a while with his meds but now things are starting up again. I think he misses a few doses here and there and it isn’t working like it should or something. Here is just one example from tonight. I worked 4-midnight and my phone died during my shift and this is what I came home to....

I just can’t be treated like this and I know he doesn’t mean to act out he has a problem but should I stick by it and help it work through it or is it not even worth it? When he isn’t having a mood swing he is the nicest person I have ever met in my life. He treats me with respect and puts me first and I feel this amazing connection with him...but I just don’t know what to do because I can’t do this ^^^. Advice?
