You could just have Mittleschmerz.
It’s when you ovulate you get a pain on either side of your ovary and that’s the one you’re ovulating from. COMPLETELY NORMAL. It happens with age, but not to all women. As for the cysts, you should feel a protruding bump if they’re large, or feel pressure in those areas.

Was the blood just like spotting? Usually I get brown spotting after a cyst burst.

To me yes, I’ve had 4 ovarian cysts rupture. They were just small follicular cysts and one time I bled and it was pinkish/red fluid and only bled for an hour or so. The other times the blood stayed in my abdomen and was reabsorbed.
