IUD, nuvaring, or the pill?

I’ve been on the pill for a few months and i haven’t had any side effects expect for my already really horrible periods (which is why I got on it) have gotten worse and I kinda suck at taking the pill. The doctor recommended IUD but everyone has told me not to and I’ve also gotten told to consider Nuvaring but that it also worsens bleeding but just for a couple days. I’m only 17 and really active so I don’t what the pain from IUD but I’m lost on what I should do. know what I should do.

With nuvaring you can skip periods by keeping the ring in for 4 weeks and then changing it. I have the mirena IUD for heavy periods. Its FDA approved to treat heavy periods. Now I dont get any. I had bad cramps for 2 weeks then they went away. After month 2 my periods reduced. I'm on month 5 and I love it! It's so worth it. No daily pill, weekly patch or monthly ring to remember. Insertion was 5 mins, it was painful but I was able to get up and walk out of the appt and go to work that same day. Use a heating pad for the bad cramps and pain killers. I wish I had gotten an IUD sooner. No other side effects.

i’ve heard too many horror stories with the IUD, i’m currently using nuvaring and i like it so far and it’s very LOW maintenance rather than taking the pill everyday

I love my iud! Nuvaring was ok, but my Mirena iud is so much better

Nuvaring didn’t worsen bleeding for me, it actually made my period lighter, and no cramps at all. you just put it in and you know you put it in right when you can’t feel it.
