Saying I love you for the First Time

I’ve been seeing this guy for almost 4 months now and I’m pretty sure I love him... I’ve been wanting to tell him for a little while now but I’ve been nervous it’s too early and idk what he’d think. I’ve never had to tell someone that I love them first, it’s always been them telling me. The first time one of my exes told me they loved me I was caught off guard because I wasn’t even thinking about it. I’m nervous that is how he would react.

How do you go about telling someone you love them for the first time and get past the nerves of their reaction?! I don’t know, any advice or experiences you’ve gone through on this subject would help 😊
