Sex/Protection On Birth Control

Just wanted to get a good idea of what people’s choices have been!

As most everyone knows, BC is about 99.7% effective or so (if taken properly)

As someone who is deciding to take steps to become sexually active, I just wanted some people’s input.

For those on BC, do you use condoms as well just to be safe or do you trust the pill? My plan was to use both for at least a while just to be as safe as I could be, however, I’m not sure if it truly makes a difference or not.

I apologize if I come off as uneducated or silly, but I suppose it’s just some paranoia! I don’t plan on having sex until I’ve been on the pill for a while, and I’ve just been very curious as to what people who ARE on it have done.

EDIT: The comments so far have been wonderful!! I AM in a committed relationship with a man who has been tested (not because he’s been around really, more just for his sake of knowing..!) and he’s completely supportive of the double protection!
