I just had my first one as im pregnant, its weird. A stranger staring down there lol but thats their job, they see many vaginas every day! The retractoe thing they use feels weird, but they use lube gel, the papsmear is uncomfortable but very quick. It doesnt hurt. There is a very brief finger in there to make sure your cervix is good (idk if that happens all the time) but over all its fairly easy and quick!!

I had my exam the very first time I went into the women’s clinic.
They have you lay down, legs pretty much apart, and they tell you to relax yourself as much as you can to reduce the uncomfortable pressure from the speculum. They’ll swab the inside of your vagina with different things, just to make sure everything inside is up to par for the labs.
When they’re done with the speculum, they’ll use their finger inside you and then push around your belly area. 
That’s pretty much it.
