Marriage?

I need help! I've never been a big fan of the idea of marriage but always wanted a wedding. My fiancé is a fan of marriage but not wedding. I've agreed to get married because I know it is what he wants, and I want to give him everything he wants. We live together and have a 6 month old, we've been talking about it recently and now we're confused.

Basically if we want to get married within the next couple years we would have to elope because we don't have the £10,000 minimum we would need for a wedding. So do we elope and I give up on having a wedding/getting all dressed up, or do we wait and potentially not get married for years? Either way one of us are likely to be slightly disappointed in some way.

Mostly looking for stories and advice about what you did and some pros/cons.
