Zika?

My husband & I have been TTC for five months. We just returned home from vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico & at Thanksgiving, a family member brought up the Zika virus. My heart sank because we were both bit by mosquitoes & it had never, ever crossed my mind (or I would’ve canceled our trip). I had spoke with my doctor at my yearly in September about traveling to Mexico & she gave me standard precautions, but never mentioned Zika. I will most likely be calling her office, but I’m just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this or know if the virus is still prevalent. We’ve recently suffered a miscarriage, so emotions are running a little high after that & now having to worrying about Zika.
