Negative test result and no period??

Question

I’m currently 4 days late with no physical signs of my period coming aside from fatigue and tender breasts... I tested today and got a negative and am kinda confused as to why else my period would be late. Any experiences with this? Was it actually positive?

Me!! I travelled to the US from Aus and back and I think it threw my whole cycle.
I knew I was pregnant early on. A week before I was due I took a test, negative. Took another a few days later, negative. Took one the day of my missed period, negative. 4 days later still hadn’t started bleeding, took another test, faint positive.
I’m now 6 weeks. 💔

Amenorrhea is actually fairly common and not be a result of pregnancy. If you're 4 days late though, pregnancy is still a possibility. In rare instances, some women don't get a bfp until they're 5-8 weeks because of the way their body metabolizes hcg. It is rare though. If you go a month without a bfp or a a period, see a doctor for a scan.

Periods can be late for countless reasons. From a medical standpoint if you are 4 days late a test would show a positive. That is unless you ovulated late.
