Swaddling??

Question

When is swaddling supposed to end? My baby is 3 months and still swaddled for night time sleep.  He naps in his swing but if he needs to lay on his back he can’t sleep without a swaddle. I don’t know what I’m going to do once he can’t be swaddled anymore.

I believe once they can roll to their belly you need to stop as it becomes a hazard at that point. Maybe try swaddling under the arms? My LO was never big on being swaddled =\

We started with just one arm out, then after about a week went to both arms out. From there we switched her to a sleep sack and now she just sleeps in her jammies.

My son is 3 months old and I still swaddle him at night. I will stop it once he learns to roll over.

I switched to the sleep blanket around 5 weeks because my daughter didn't really like the swaddle and would brake free. The sleep blanket works great because she feels safety from the warmth

We are about to transition out of the swaddle as soon as this sleep regression is over. I’m nervous because my little girl loves being swaddled and sleeps great. I bought the Baby Merlin Magic Sleep Suit to help transition. You can find it on Amazon...I’ve heard so many great things about it.

You’re supposed to stop swaddling once they can rollover, we have to stop swaddling once they become Houdini and bust out of it! Our 4 month old is napping with both arms out and has one arm out for bedtime. He’s probably ready to sleep at night unswaddled but I’m not ready to possibly not have a goodnight!!

Im still swaddling at 3months baby isnt rollimg yet but i let her sleep unswaddled for naps trying to slowly get her use to it. Then ill move her to sacks

We are in the process of transition. 3 months old so I know we have time before she starts rolling and we HAVE to transition but I want to be ready and make this a gradual process since she loves to be swaddled and sleeps SO good at night. We started naps in her crib with no swaddle (she cat naps throughout the day). At night she’s in an arms reach cosleeper and we started by swaddling a bit looser. So far I have one arm out, but we’re in a bit of a sleep regression so I haven’t wanted to go further until she starts sleeping better. Next I’ll leave out her other arm, then switch to a sleep sack.

We still swaddle. Baby isn’t really rolling yet and he likes the extra pressure on his stomach because it helps soothe his gas pains I think. We got the Zipadee Zip for transitioning.
