Would you be concerned?

My girl is 15 weeks today. She does not try to lift her head when lying on her back, she does not reach for toys, and she does not laugh. She will smile but there is no actual laugh yet. She focuses on her toys a lot, but does not reach for them or grab them. Her movements dont seem intentional to me yet. It still seems like reflex movements.

I wouldn’t be concerned. Every baby grows at their own pace and reaches milestones differently. Tomorrow she may wake up and reach for all the toys. I wouldn’t worry until the pediatrician worries. My girl still doesn’t laugh and I think a lot of her movements are accidents rather than intentional. She’ll be 4 months on the 13th. I’m trying not to stress because I know she’ll get there on her own time.

I wouldn’t be concerned. Just start working with her more. Try holding toys in a reachable distance from her but not placing them in her hand. Light up or musical toys might work best to encourage her to start wanting to reach or touch them. Do tummy time more than once per day. My little guy was behind on lifting his head so I now do tummy time 2-3 times per day for about 10 minutes at a time. He has really improved over the last few weeks and can hold himself up on his elbows now and play with toys on his belly. I would just work with her a little bit each day and if she doesn’t improve over the next month or two then maybe mention it your pediatrician.

My son is 15 weeks as well. He doesn't lift his head while on his back or reach for toys either. But his neck control is extremely good and his legs are super strong. He'll hold toys if I put them in his hand.

I wouldn’t be concerned. Babies move at their own pace but I would just work with her more. I do tons of tummy time with my son & also I lay him on the Bobby on his stomach arms over it. I think just from those things he gained a lot of head control and hand eye coordination.

I say if you are concerned about her take her and get her checked. If then you Doctor is not concerned then you shouldn’t worry. I personally would take my child in just for me to have a peace of mind.
